Before each of the Monday and Wednesday lecture-based class meetings, one group of students will write Linking Passage Responses and post them to Blackboard. (See below for posting procedures.) These responses are very short: they should consist of a passage of no more than 50 words from the assigned reading along with your commentary, also of no more than 50 words. The commentary should point out a way that the chosen passage represents a connection to or contrast with the reading for the previous class session.

These exercises should be posted to the discussion board by 9:00 on the morning the class will meet.
