Traditions of British
Literature II

Colloquially known as "Trads II," this course introduces students to some elements of British literature from the eighteenth century to the end of the nineteenth. Each incarnation of the course uses one of a number of modules for exploring texts within each of eighteenth-century, Romantic, and Victorian literature. The materials on this site will grow to support multiple modules for each period; the current modules are listed under "syllabus," while selected modules from past semesters live in the "Old Modules" section. Some of the old modules reflect our now-defunct two-part survey structure, when English 224 covered the Romantics to the present.
